TEFAP is a federal USDA program that provides free emergency food (USDA commodities such as canned goods, cereal, rice, beans, peanut butter, cheese, and sometimes fresh produce) to low-income individuals and families. The main distribution center for metro Atlanta is operated by the Atlanta Community Food Bank, and the food is then distributed through hundreds of local food pantries and soup kitchens across Georgia.

Yad L’Yad provides free kosher food and/or food coupons to local Jewish individuals and families in need. They distribute food on a biweekly basis and also offer seasonal support such as Shabbos packages, holiday food assistance (Pesach, Rosh Hashanah, etc.), and other short-term help.

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program help eligible seniors get fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs at no cost. They provide vouchers that cover about $20-$50 worth of food at participating farmers markets. The vouchers are given out May 1st to October 15th of each year.
