Who Qualifies
Survivors of domestic violence whose teeth were damaged or lost due to abuse
Must be a legal U.S. resident
Must be referred by a domestic violence shelter, advocate, or healthcare provider
Income guidelines may apply depending on the volunteer dentist
Application Process
Contact a domestic violence shelter, advocate, or healthcare provider for a referral.
Go to this link and complete the online application.
Submit the $20 non-refundable application fee (or complete 10 hours of community service in lieu of the fee).
The program reviews the application and matches the survivor with a volunteer AACD member dentist in their area.
Treatment is provided at no cost to the patient.
Description
Give Back a Smile is a national charitable program run by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). It provides free comprehensive cosmetic dental restoration (including veneers, crowns, bridges, implants, and whitening) to survivors of domestic violence who have suffered dental injuries as a result of abuse.
