Who Qualifies
Be a Georgia resident
Have a hearing, speech, or vision disability that interferes with telephone communication
Provide professional certification verifying the disability (physician, audiologist, speech-language pathologist, vocational rehabilitation counselor, etc.)
Have telephone or internet service available where the equipment will be used
Application Process
Go to this website to fill out the online application.
You will need:
Certification of disability signed by an approved professional
Proof of income
Once approved, applicants are contacted to schedule equipment selection, training, and installation at no cost
Description
GATEDP provides free telecommunications equipment to qualified applicants throughout the state of Georgia. They offer a variety of solutions to fit the varying needs of applicants who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, or have difficulty speaking. This includes tablets, amplifiers, and speech equipment.
